Kuhn named an all-star ahead of weekend fireworks at RAP

The Victoria HarbourCats are pleased to announce that the West Coast League has named Victoria closer Travis Kuhn (San Diego) to the upcoming WCL all-star game. Kuhn is added to the game four days after the WCL announced the preliminary rosters featuring four HarbourCats.

The freshman-commit has been tremendous for Victoria this season, already setting the new franchise record for saves in a single season and career with seven, and is the league leader.

In 21.1 innings of work, Kuhn has worked to a 2.10 ERA with 29 strikeouts against just 16 hits and eight walks.

Kuhn is the fifth Victoria all-star who will take part in the WCL’s premiere midseason event, host by the Yakima Valley Pippins on Tuesday, July 18 at Yakima County Stadium.

The complete list of HarbourCats all-stars:

RHP Travis Kuhn (San Diego)

 RHP Adam McKillican (UBC)

The HarbourCats will host the Burnaby Bulldogs on Saturday and Sunday at Royal Athletic Park in their final action before the all-star break.

Saturday’s 6:35pm start features a postgame fireworks display thanks to Wallace Driving School. The spectacular 18-minute show is the second of the season at RAP, and is always a fan favourite and a hot ticket.

The weekend set, which concludes on Sunday at 1:05pm, is a tune-up for Burnaby for next month’s Baseball Canada Men’s National Championship. The Bulldogs are the B.C. representatives in the 10-team national championship, taking place in Victoria on August 23-27.

The tournament will also feature the Victoria Mavericks, who will play all of their games at Royal Athletic Park as the host team.

Tickets for Saturday’s fireworks game and Sunday’s matinee are available online via Ticket Rocket:

2018 season tickets will go on sale in July including the highly popular Campbell Real Estate Club. Tentative plans are in the works to expand the new home plate seating section from two to four rows of padded seating.
