The NorthWest Honkers took advantage of six HarbourCats errors to sail to an 8-4 victory in exhibition baseball action Wednesday night at Wilson’s Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park.

The HarbourCats scored all of their runs except for the first on solo home runs,  as Tyler Pettit, Jordan Bond and Jaydon Malinowski each went yard.  Their power display was not enough however, as the Honkers were able to use some fielding woes for the Cats against them.

It was also nice to see Daniel Sawchyn pick up the player of the game award. Daniel played some nice defense coupled with a two double night.

Before the game the HarbourCats hosted the BC Special Olympics Softball team on the field for a fun two-inning affair in which multiple HarbourCats players got involved. It was a fun pre-game showing for the team and a special thank you goes out to Peninsula Co-op who were the generous sponsors of the fun.
