Kamloops, BC ~ The HarbourCats saw a one run lead in the bottom of the eight inning evaporate before giving up a walk off single to Kamloops center fielder Felix Chenier Rondeau in the ninth to fall to an even 6-6 record to begin the season.

Colton Moore’s two run homerun in the top of the fourth was not enough for the HarbourCats who were unable to hold onto their late lead in Kamloops. That homerun was Colton’s third of the year and second in as many games and just goes to show how his bat is starting to come around in a noticable fashion. He would also tally a double later in the game.

Apart from Colton, Victoria only tallied four hits. Those four coming in the forms of triples from Joseph Redfield and Grady Morgan, and singles from Jake Skipworth and Josh Rolling.

Owen Luchies came out of the bullpen to begin the seventh, and pitched 2.1 innings of which he had to heavily battle during. Despite his best efforts, Kamloops seemed to have his number and those 2.1 innings included five NorthPaws hits, a walk and two runs (including the winning run). A tough outing for the youngster who is commited to play at Lower Columbia College next season.

This matchup promises to be one that will be the battle for the North Division title in the WCL whith Kamloops coming into the game sitting first and Victoria holding second place (they are now third after suffering their sixth loss of the season). The HarbourCats will comntinue their series in Kamloops over the next two days before returning home to host the Coquitlam Angels for three games starting June 16th at 6:35 pm.
