Kamloops, BC ~ The HarbourCats used a solid eight run output to defeat the NorthPaws in the final game of their three game series. This mini road trip deffiently did not go exactly how Todd Haney’s squad wanted or envisioned it to, but they will at least head home with a positive mind frame after an emphatic win on the road.
We are starting to feel like a broken record, talking about the hot streak that Colton Moore is on right now, but it is hard to not do so after he again led the HarbourCat charge with; three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Colton is now batting .333 on the season with 12 hits in nine games even more impressive however is his unheard of .970 OPS early on. He also now has two hits or more in three straight games and two homeruns in the last four. With those RBI today, that gives Moore 10 on the season which is good enough for third in the West Coast League even though he missed five games due to injury.
Michael Nunez made a nice first appearance in the WCL, getting the start on the bump for Victoria and going four and a third innings while giving up two runs on four hits and striking out five. Dawson Hurford than continued his impressive stretch of work this year by going three and two thirds of no run baseball moving his year ERA down to 0.77. Jack Seward than came on in the ninth to close out the game in a non save situation.
The HarbourCats return home tomorrow night (June 17) to host the Coquitlam Angels Senior Men’s Baseball Club for a three game exhibition series. They will not play another league game until Tuesday of next week, when Wenatchee will stroll into town for a three game set.
