The lead would stay at three throughout the majority of the game up until the top of the seventh where the Lefties brought it back within two, as Roberto Nunez sent Isiah Walz to home plate with a single to left field.

Victoria then put the game out of reach in the bottom of the eighth as Marco Pirruccello’s base hit extended the lead to 4-1 and ultimately was too late for the Lefties to begin a comeback.

Texas State University prospect Max Grubbs was on the mound for the ‘Cats, putting up an impressive performance with six strikeouts in four innings work.  Relief pitchers Jake Finkelstein and Davis Franklin also put in solid productions striking out six batters together in the latter half of the game.

Despite the loss, Lefties infielder Roberto Nunez’s hot bat continues; hitting two for four and improving his batting average to .368, sixth in the West Coast League.

The HarbourCats look to continue their success at home tomorrow and Thursday night against Port Angeles, both 6:35pm starts before the ‘Cats host the Wenatchee AppleSox for another three game series Friday night, our third fireworks night of the season.
