RS SOPHOMORE (2022): Picked up the win in relief at Grand Canyon, striking out one over an inning of scoreless work (Feb. 18) … Struck out two over 1.1 innings at UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 25) … Went 1.1 innings, striking out three against San José State (March 13).

RS FRESHMAN (2021) — Made three appearances out of the bullpen during his first season with the Wolf Pack … Gave up two earned runs on two hits in his 2.0 innings of work with one strikeout … Made his Division I debut on Feb. 19 at Cal Poly.

PRIOR TO NEVADA — Spent two seasons at Sierra College in Rocklin, Calif. before transferring to Nevada … Pitched 3.1 innings with four strikeouts in a shortened 2020 season.

HIGH SCHOOL — Graduated from Galena High School in Reno where he was a two-sport athlete in baseball and skiing … Part of a baseball conference and state championship in 2017 … Took third place individually in the 2014 state skiing championship.

PERSONAL — Son of Doug and Erin Hicks … Has two sisters, Lyndsey and Sarah … His grandfather, Bruce Hicks, played college football at Nevada … General studies major … Chose Nevada because of his strong family tie to the university, the good reputation of the coaching staff and the opportunity to build a special team … Also recruited by Arkansas-Pine Bluff … Lists Mariano Rivera as his sports hero … The most memorable moment of his pre-Nevada career was pitching at Greater Nevada Field in high school … Enjoys skiing, hiking and volunteering in his free time.
