Takacs, a freshman at 6-3/200, has been part of the junior national team program, and was a blue-chip recruit. He is a product of the Victoria Eagles and PISE baseball programs, graduating from Oak Bay. A power right-hander with pro potential.

2022: Appeared in 16 games on the mound for the Hornets, making 10 starts… Finished the year with a 1-3 record and a 7.92 ERA… Struck out 46 hitters in 50.0 innings, scattering 55 hits and walking 21… His 46 strikeouts ranked fourth on the team… Earned his first win of the season at Utah Tech on April 23, striking out seven over five innings, allowing just one run on two hits… Struck out a season-high eight batters without a walk over five innings in a no-decision at New Mexico State on April 10… Threw a season-high 5.1 innings of relief at home against Pacific on March 29.

2021: Appeared in nine games in his debut season with Sacramento State, making four starts… Did not have a record, and posted a 4.82 ERA in 18.2 innings of work… Made his collegiate debut Feb. 21 at Arizona State, throwing a scoreless inning and allowing one hit… Made his first of four starts on March 4 at Santa Clara, throwing 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out a season-high four in the outing… Struck out 17 in 18.2 innings of work, good for an 8.20 strikeouts per nine innings, and walked six… Threw a season-high 67 pitches in a 3.2-inning start at Utah Valley on March 19… Threw a season-high 3.2 innings twice, while pitching three or more three times… Did not commit an error in the field, collecting one assist and one putout in his two defensive chances.
