Pre-Chico Days: Played two seasons for Grossmont College in El Cajon…Batted .283 with 31 RBI in 2019, while as a pitcher posted a 4-2 record to earn All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Honorable Mention…Named Grossmont College’s 2019 Scholar Athlete of the Year…Won four games as a freshman in 2018…A 2017 graduate of Granite Hills High School in El Cajon…Helped lead Eagles to the 2016 CIF San Diego Section Division I championship and a share of the Grossmont League title…Second Team All-GL and Second Team All-East County selection as a senior…All-GL Honorable Mention in 2016…Named team MVP as a sophomore…Also lettered in water polo, helping Granite Hills win a league title in 2013…

Personal: Born September 11, 1999, in San Diego…Son of Daniel and Heather…Has three older siblings: Jensyn, Jordan, and Jacob…His grandfather Joe Verdon played five seasons in the Boston Red Sox organization…His dad is his hero (“He has taught me what it means to be a man and how to treat people the right way. He is the worker, husband, father, and friend I aspire to be”)…The person he most admires in the sports world is Tom Brady (“I always respect someone who can compete and win at the highest level time and time again”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Graphics II, taught by Charlie Pooler…Chose to attend Chico State “because of its well-respected baseball and engineering programs”…His greatest sports moment is winning a CIF title “with some of my best friends” in high school…The most interesting thing he’s ever done is turn lollipops into a bike for a Christmas gift…The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished is earn his SolidWorks certification…Has learned by playing baseball that “failing 70 percent of the time still equates to success. Get up and keep trying”
