In the heart of Victoria, a powerful initiative is gaining momentum for its impactful mission and compelling story. Soap for Hope is an organization dedicated to rescuing discarded soaps, hygiene products, bedding, and clothing, repurposing them for those in need. Driven by committed volunteers and in collaboration with local organizations, this effort distributes hygiene kits to shelters, low-income housing facilities, and other community establishments, ensuring everyone has access to essential hygiene products. By providing more than just soap — offering dignity and care — Soap for Hope in Victoria is profoundly impacting the lives of those it serves, one bar of soap at a time.

Players in full uniform, accompanied by Harvey the HarbourCat, toured the Soap for Hope warehouse before taking the road for the first road trip of the season. Housed in a brick building, the facility includes a thrift store, packaging area, drop-off zone, and volunteer stations. During their visit, volunteers shared insights into the daily operations of repurposing collected products from across British Columbia and Alberta.

Get involved with Soap for Hope’s daily efforts, which include cleaning, repurposing, and packaging discarded hygiene products. Join the Soap for Hope team and create handmade soaps and other hygiene items in a friendly atmosphere! You can contribute by donating unwanted or gently used hygiene products at a collection bin located beside the info booth during games at Wilson’s Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park. Lastly, visit Soap for Hope to check out their affordable, top-notch thrift store offering.
