Victoria, BC – Whatever the HarbourCats host families are feeding their players is certainly working.  The HarbourCats stayed undefeated in eight home games thus far in 2023, handing the Yakima Valley Pippins an 11-4 loss Saturday evening at Wilson’s Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park in Victoria.

The win is the HarbourCats fifth in a row overall, second in a row over Yakima, and their 11-3 record now vaults them into a first place tie with the idle Bellingham Bells in the West Coast League’s North Division.

Leading the way for the HarbourCats was catcher Russell Young who had a grand slam to break the game open in the fifth inning, finishing with five RBI on the day, and Hudson Shupe, who was four for four with a triple, double and a walk, scoring four times. Also having a good night was Tyler Davis, with three hits, three RBI and two runs scored.
