Victoria, BC – The Victoria HarbourCats recently added some impressive young players to their 2022 roster with a few signings that certainly will be bringing fans out of their seats at Royal Athletic Park.

All three signees will be coming from down south to play for Victoria with both; infielder Jake Skipworth and outfielder Grady Morgan hailing for California, while catcher Colton Moore joins the HarbourCats from Texas.

  • Jake Skipworth: 6’3, 225, Cal Baptist, Sophomore
  • Grady Morgan: 6’2, 215, Chico State, Sophomore
  • Colton Moore: 5’10, 205, Arizona Commit, Sophomore

Colton Moore:

Colton will arrive in Victoria after spending the past two seasons with Cisco College after making the move from Texas State. The sophomore had a very productive year both offensively and behind the plate, establishing himself as a young player with plenty of upside. A native of Amarillo, Texas, Moore offers lots of pop out of the catcher position and compliments that well with his ability to hit for average, something he showed this season posting a .397 AVG at Cisco. He has committed to play for Arizona next year, a very strong program, and Victoria is very pleased to have him on board for this coming season.

Jake Skipworth:

Jake will be coming to Victoria after posting some eye popping numbers while playing at California Baptist University this year after transferring over from Cal Berkeley in the aftermath of spending two seasons there. He grew up in the city of Eastvale, California and played prep baseball at Eleanor Roosevelt High. He would end up being being named twice to the Big Eight All-League Team after setting a team record for hits in a season while also qualifying for all-academic awards all four years. The 6’3, 230 lb infielder, hit six home runs and knocked in 39 runners this year in just 36 games. Look for him to continue to produce at a high rate this summer.

Grady Morgan:

Standing in at 6’2, 215 from Laguna Beach, California, Grady Morgan spent this past season at Chico State University where he batted .406 with five round trippers and 43 RBIs. Grady previously played for Butte College in Oroville, California where he was named California Junior College Player of the Year and led Butte to the number two ranking in the state. Grady was also the MVP of the Orange Coast League in high school as he has quite the trophy case filled with accolades. Those were topped off this past year by being named American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings Position Player of the Year in the Pacific Association Division. Grady brings power and quality hitting to Victoria and he will definitely be a name that will be heard around Wilson’s Group Stadium this season.
