VICTORIA, BC — It’s always fun when Victoria’s two top sports franchises, with the two best mascots, get together in a spirit of community and teamwork.
At Friday’s WHL game at Save On Foods Memorial Centre, the Victoria Royals will have the support of their friendly neighbours — baseball’s Victoria HarbourCats — as they chase a playoff spot while hosting the Spokane Chiefs, a 7pm puck drop.
The first 200 fans in attendance will each receive a ticket to a 2022 HarbourCats game, and the West Coast League’s team staff, including Harvey the HarbourCat, will be handing out 2022 pocket schedules, hot off the presses — with the May 31 home opener fast approaching.
“We’ve always had a great relationship with the Royals, and we even now work with the same ticketing company, Select Your Tickets,” said HarbourCats Managing Partner Jim Swanson. “We are excited to see the Royals battling so hard to be ready for the playoffs, and we’ll be there cheering loud on Friday.”
“Go, Royals, Go! No one is more excited than Harvey to have fun cheering with Marty.”
The Royals will later be part of an event at Wilson’s Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park, just down the street from the arena in the Capital’s stadium district. The HarbourCats are returning in 2022 after COVID and border limitations nixed the past two seasons.
Single-game tickets for all 2022 HarbourCats games are now available on-line via Select Your Tickets at harbourcats.com/tickets. Season tickets and 10-game flex packs are also available through the HarbourCats office at 101-1814 Vancouver Street or by calling 778-265-0327.
Tickets for Friday night’s Royals game are also available on-line via Select Your Tickets HERE, or are available at the arena box office prior to game time.
