Sunday doubleheader to be played as scheduled

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – June 18, 2017

VICTORIA, B.C. – The HarbourCats next home on Sunday, a double-header vs. the Kitsap BlueJackets, non-league action at Royal Athletic Park, will be played as scheduled at 12:35pm, unless otherwise stated.

LHP Claire Eccles will make her first start for the HarbourCats in that 12:35pm game, which is becoming a hot ticket. Game two follows immediately after the conclusion of game one. One ticket grants admission to both games.

The HarbourCats will have a busy home schedule starting Sunday – here’s a look at what’s on tap:

Sunday, June 18, vs. Kitsap Blue Jackets (12:35pm first pitch, doubleheader)

LHP Clair Eccles starts on Coca-Cola Father’s Day at the Park, sponsored by Geric Construction and presented by CHEK-TV, a great day to take Dad to the park and enjoy a baseball game – make that TWO baseball games!

Monday, June 19, vs. Port Angeles Lefties (12:05pm first pitch)

It’s School Spirit Day and a special noon start time with more than 2,000 school children scheduled to attend, and a special pre-game demonstration before the game with UVic’s CanAssist and their BatSwinger Project.

Tuesday, June 20, vs. Corvallis Knights (6:35pm first pitch)

The first visit by the Knights in three seasons is also Investors Group Family Night at the Park, with proceeds from the 50-50 going to support National Little League.

Wednesday, June 21, vs. Corvallis Knights (6:35pm first pitch)

The first FAITH NIGHT with Glad Tidings Church takes place at RAP. Central Baptist Church will join those in attendance, and fans are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation for the Mustard Seed. The game is also a Winning Wednesday  with Spinnakers.

Thursday, June 22, vs. Corvallis Knights (6:35pm first pitch)

It’s LADIES ONLY NIGHT* in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada – yes, the fellas can come along, but only if they bring a donation to help fight ovarian cancer. Also that night, a Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce Mixer, and the SKAL tourism group in attendance.

Friday, June 23, vs. Walla Walla Sweets (6:35pm first pitch)

We celebrate Kiwanis Crossing Guards on this Friday game against divisional rival Walla Walla, the first of a three-game series at RAP.

Saturday, June 24, vs. Walla Walla Sweets (6:35pm first pitch)

It’s a full day of activities at the park. Peninsula Co-op is sponsoring the first Community Scrub Baseball Game, starting at 1pm and going to 4:30pm, open for anyone to come to the park and join in on the field in a game of old-time scrub baseball. Bring them all – old, young, any level of play, we’ll have fun playing baseball together!

Sunday, June 25, vs. Walla Walla Sweets (1:05pm first pitch)

Hello, puppies! BARK IN THE PARK with Bosley’s on Yates, bring man’s best friend along! And, after the game, it’s the Barclay’s Fine Custom Jewelers DIAMOND DIG for a chance to win a $1,000 gift certificate to Barclay’s Fine Custom Jewelers, and also pre-game it’s a Frito Lay giveaway with a bag of chips to the first 500 who enter the gates.
